Must–Stay Italian Hotels and Villas

Spread the love
iItaly– A place long known for some of my most favorite things: sprawling landscapes, exquisite fashion, and even better wine. During my most recent trip there, I had the opportunity to explore all three. It was an excursion to remember as I made my way from the cobblestone streets of Tuscany, down through to Venice onto Ischia, with lots of small villages in between, eventually ending my trip in glorious Rome.

Whether you have had the chance to explore this gem of a country or you are hoping to do so in the next coming months, I wanted to share some of my experiences with you and suggest four accommodations to enhance your experience.

Villa Sole – Tuscany

Renting a villa is one of my favorite ways of traveling through Italy as it allows you to experience an entirely different interaction with the city itself. Villa Sole, located in Tuscany, is no exception to this and most definitely one that I found I simply did not want to leave. Beautifully situated just five minutes outside of Cortona, the estate boasts a total of three buildings, a farmhouse, a Limonaia, and of course the lovely villa. Adorned in simple yet tasteful décor throughout, from the entryways to the dining hall, every section of this 17th Century villa estate was exquisite.

The perfect starting point for an exploration of the many surrounding Tuscan towns and cities, you’ll have the opportunity to discover ones such as Perugia, Siena, Montepulciano, Ovieto, and even nearby Florence, especially for shopping.

Fill your trip to Tuscany with plenty of wine tasting and vineyard visits, snapping photos at the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and simply soaking up the beauty that is Tuscany.

Hotel Metropole – Venice

With one sweeping look at the lagoon-facing property in all its glory, it won’t take more than a few seconds to understand why this is particular hotel has been awarded that coveted Michelin Star. Stylish finishes set against a truly picturesque landscape along the water, Hotel Metropole surely meets the needs of every traveler who pays it a visit.

A quick stroll will take you right to the front of several shops, inviting restaurants, and the overall lovely ambiance that Piazza San Marco exudes. What I also came to love was the option of giving my tired feet a rest by way of the private landing stage to the canal where either a water taxi or water limousine was waiting to take me on my way. While in Venice, I concluded that Hotel Metropole simply offers anything a guest could ever need during their stay.

Miramare Castello – Ischia

A room with a view unlike any other is just the beginning of what Miramare Castello in beautiful Ischia offers its lucky guests. Fine dining on the deck looking out over the turquoise blue waters, a dip into the onsite swimming pool, and service that will exceed your expectations in every way, it is safe to say they certainly know what they are doing at Miramare Castello.

After you’ve got your fair share of exploring the many treasures found within the Gulf of Naples, do not forego spending a relaxing afternoon or evening at Alysandy Space, the property’s very own spa. Whether it is a relaxing mud bath, an uplifting facial, full-body massage, or all three, you’ll leave Alysandy Space feeling refreshed and rejuvenated – ready to head out to our next Italian destination.  Of course you must not miss Castello Aragonese.

Hotel Borgognoni – Rome

Ah, the capital city of Roma – one of such historic ambiance and the bustle of everyday Italian life. Through my visits to Rome over the years, the city never ceases to amaze me in all its glory. And with my stay at Hotel Borgognoni, it made for the perfect spot to add yet another successful Rome visit to my travels of Italy.

Perfectly set in the middle of the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and all the shopping, the location takes the cake. You are quite literally just a quick stroll to almost all the best sights and scenes of Rome, including the Colosseum and the Pentagon, which is an adventure unto itself.
