Driehaus Lights Up Lake Geneva

By Irene Michaels
July 30, 2009

Richard H. Driehaus, philanthropist and business leader, had his annual birthday bash in Lake Geneva, Wis. on Saturday night. The theme this year was about love, peace and happiness. Reminiscent of the year 1967.

SUSANNA JOHNSON AND RICHARD

Many family, friends and neighbors, as well as the civic, arts, architecture and political communities were there. Most dressed in chic hippie attire dating back to the '60s.

ZZAZZ GIRL

As the guests arrived they were taken by trolley onto the estate of Driehaus. Entering the party, beautiful girls were dressed as flowers (costumes were designed by Tracey Tarantino of Zzazz Productions). A large peace sign was sitting in the center of the lawn.

There were small tables set up on the grass for guests to visit and mingle with each other. Appetizers from the '60s were served by the hippie staff. As the night progressed, everyone was invited into the "Lava Lounge", a huge tent where dinner and dancing took place. Rhonda Snowaert Event Partners provided the wonderful event production.

BAND

Following the party, a dynamic fireworks display lit the sky over Wisconsin. The atmosphere and camaraderie of Richard's "Summer of Love" left everyone with a warm and loving feeling. "Thank you for that Richard".
