Aspen International Fashion Week 2014: Where The Rocky Mountains Meet Runway Fashion…

Aspen became a fashionistas paradise for four days as Aspen International Fashion Week kicked off, featuring top name designers and innovative fabrics…

Outdoor skating rink (C.P. Burger) was transformed into an impressive open air Apres Ski Stage as Aspen Intl. Fashion Week (A.I.F.W.) stepped into high gear during a magnificent event from March 13 – 16th.

Creative, new styles were showcased in front of hundreds of adoring onlookers at the base of Aspen Mtn. on Durant Ave. as appealing waitresses circulated through the crowd, offering everyone gourmet french fries, kale, salmon sandwiches, etc.

Spotlighted in Thursday’s line up were the newest designs from Dennis Basso, Columbia, and Perfect Moment. According to A.I.F.W. President Brooke Fogg, “We’re thrilled to announce Dennis Basso as the opening designer for Aspen Intl. Fashion Week. His collection is the definition of of luxury …. ”

Headlining Friday’s fashion presentation were selections by Gorski Furs and Polar Max, as well as a Snowlink.com Accessory Spotlight including K2, Marker-Volkl, and Salomon U.S.A. Clever, surprising styles from Obermeyer, Helly Hansen, and Mountain Hides concluded the outdoor runway exhibit on Saturday.

Following each day’s runway presentations were “Shop Aspen Events,” where fashionistas mingled at local boutiques and mouthwatering cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were served. Overall, the luxurious and festive atmosphere of the Aspen community lended itself to very exciting and entertaining fashion activities all week long.

The exclusive Caribou Club was the perfect location for the pinnacle of this four day style extravaganza: the Black and White Ball, benefitting St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. A tremendous live auction (including a Danny Thomas Pro-Am celebrity golf outing) coupled with a silent auction was able to raise an estimated $15 – 20,000.

Congratulations to A.I.F.W. President Brooke Fogg, runway emcee Darcy Conover, and countless volunteers who donated their time to make this A.I.F.W. 2014 a stylish success!
