Fashion from the 87th Academy Awards
This year’s Oscars acknowledged a plethora of great and inspiring films. From Birdman to The Imitation Game to The Grand Budapest Hotel to American Sniper, there were many movies to choose from this year, none of which were disappointing. Although Sunday night was the film industry’s biggest night to celebrate its best talent, many of the stars walking down the red carpet also showed off their keen fashion sense.
Oscar night is a night to show off the most glamorous gowns; whether they’re risky or not, leave that up to the actress. Although there were many dresses that flooded down the red carpet this year, did anyone notice the sea of white? Many actresses must have had the same idea because white was for sure the main trend this year. Marion Cotillard, Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon were sporting the trend, to name a few.
Whether you wanted Birdman to win Best Picture or not or if you were disappointed with who won and who lost, you have to admit, many of the gowns this year were real winners. Here are a few of my favorites of the night.
1.) Jennifer Aniston
Could she have looked more beautiful? Is she really 46? Jen Aniston shined in a champagne colored, beaded Atelier Versace gown that showed off her sun kissed tan and smokin’ bod.
2.) Kerry Washington
This was an interesting one because it looked like a skirt and peplum top ensemble, but alas the Miu Miu number was all one piece. I personally couldn’t stop staring at her earrings. The ladylike pink sapphire and diamond danglers were show stopping.
3.) Rosamund Pike
Rosamund Pike let me down at the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards, but DAMMIT she made that Shit up last night at the Oscar's! I freaking love this Givenchy dress so damn much! Blood red, hand stitched embroidery, cinched waist, lovely front slit, see-thru mesh at the side and back! Ugh i can't! Gorgeous!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ #rosamundpike #givenchy #oscars2015 #gonegirl
Who wouldn’t love this dress? It fits her in all the right places and is the right balance of sexy and simple. Not to mention, the dress is detailed with red lace. This custom Givenchy was a knockout!
There were many more that I loved, but these were my favorite. What were yours?
