Israel Idonije Foundation Hosts Third Annual Fundraiser, “An Evening With Israel Idonije”
It’s hard to find a sports figure more beloved than Israel “Izzy” Idonije. There are only a handful of athletes who make such an ongoing powerful contribution within their community and overseas. Israel Idonije is an extraordinary example in this class and the third annual fundraising event for his namesake foundation – Israel Idonije Foundation (IIF) – is definitely a cause where supporters know their donations have an impact and make a difference.
Mayor Rham Emmanuel will join former Chicago Bears Izzy Idonije, Charles “Peanut” Tillman, and other guests in the Trump Hotel’s Grand Ballroom on Thursday, July 16 for “An Evening with Israel Idonije.” The event raises critical financial and interest-based support which allows the foundation to provide quality programs that serve thousands of youth in Chicago and other areas across the globe.
This year’s honoree is Charles “Peanut” Tillman, who will be recognized for his community service. Tillman won the NFL’s Walter Payton Man on the Year Award in 2013, an award which recognizes a player’s on- and off-the-field contributions, and is active in the community through the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation. Windy City Live’s Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini will act as hosts of the evening.
“We rely on donors to help us fulfill our mission. Our goal is to help youth recognize the gifts and abilities that are uniquely theirs through programs focused on social and emotional life skills. We want to help them connect with the world around them so they are equipped with the skills necessary to set goals, make decisions and stay on the path to achieve their dreams,” said Idonije.
Tickets are $250 each and can be purchased at www.israelidonije.org/iifannual.Bank of America, Hennessey, Ask the Doctor and Swirlz Cupcakes are sponsors along with media sponsor Michigan Avenue magazine.
