Talented Trio of Actresses Light Up the 5th Annual Steppenwolf Salute to Women in the Arts Luncheon

The Four Season’s Hotel was the ideal setting where almost 300 notable personalities associated with Chicago’s business community recently assembled at the 5th Annual Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts luncheon ….

Honored were three talented actresses: Juliette Lewis, Margo Martindale, and Julianne Nicholson. This impressive trio are currently being featured in “August: Osage County”, an intriguing new film based on (Pulitzer Prize winner) and Tracy Letts’ play. Introduced in June of 2007 and directed by Anna Shapiro, and August: Osage County embarked on an ambitious 11 – city U.S. tour, then proceeded on to London’s National Theatre, and finished at the Sydney Theatre company in Australia.

After a terrific V.I.P. reception, visitors engaged in an interesting discussion with the three guests of honor, while Tracy Letts acted as an the emcee and film clip highlights were shown to the captive audience. Proud sponsors included Helen Zell and BMO Harris Bank, while United Airlines has the designation of being the exclusive airlines of Steppenwolf Theatre.

Created in 1976 by a clever group of actors, Steppenwolf is nationally recognized as the longest running, distinctive theater with its three local venues, producing an estimated 700 shows annually.

Indeed, the Steppenwolf Ensemble Theatre has a lot to be proud of, with an accomplished history of continuously turning out successful productions appearing on Broadway, as well as in London, Dublin, etc. Congratulations to Executive Director David Hawkanson and Chair Nora Daley for their endeavors that continue to surprise us here in Chicago, across the country, and around the world…

Good Show!!
