The Real Stars of the PAWS Beach Party Are Four-Legged

The Real Stars of the PAWS Beach Party Are Four-Legged

The scenic shore of Lake Michigan at North Ave. beach was the perfect backdrop for the Annual Paws Beach Party on Thursday, July 18. The magnificent heritage of the canine world was proudly represented as pooches of every pedigree were well represented and pampered. Hundreds of faithful supporters gathered on this hot, humid summer evening to celebrate man’s best friend with all of the unconditional love and friendship they provide during their lifetimes.

As the band played on the western horizon, it suddenly became very clear to me (and all of those who attended this remarkable event) just how much these four – legged furry companions mean to their fortunate owners.

Decorated tables on each side of the beach house were lined up with everything from pizza, hamburgers, salads, macaroni, pork, etc. to satisfy this hungry dog – loving crowd, while ice cream (served after sunset) provided the perfect cold, creamy dessert on this warm, muggy evening.

A fabulous silent auction spotlighted the fundraising efforts; offering everything from a personal safari with animal expert Jack Hannah, a four night stay in Las Vegas, or an autographed artistic picture of Blackhawks superstar Jonathan Toews.

Volunteers circulating through this festive crowd kept the party humming, accommodating everyone with everything from napkins to the most recent silent auction bids.

Congratulations to Paula Fasseas and all of her unselfish associates for coordinating such a successful and wonderful event… Woof Woof !!
