Fashion From The Oscars 2018 Red Carpet
The Red Carpet for the 2018 Oscars was full of fashionable men and women. Allison Williams kicked off the fashion parade in a glimmering sheer dress adorned with jewels. This style of dress has been a big hit at European fashion shows. She was praised for wearing a dress that is muted and leaves plenty to the imagination, while still making her look fabulous.
Allison Janney walked the Red Carpet in a sleek sillhoutte, long sleeved floor length dress of the same shade. Its modest plunge hugged the curves of her body. Leslie Mann also matched her dress to the carpet, arriving in a red sleeveless gown that boasted an embellished neckline and full skirt. The red trend continued with Meryl Streep’s Dior gown.
In contrast, Nicole Kidman walked the Red Carpet in a bright blue Privie gown designed by Armani. An oversized bow completed this dress’s bold style. Its slit hem and mermaid train turned countless heads on the Red Carpet.
Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvina walked the Red Carpet together, looking absolutely stunning. Ashley wore a structured two piece skirt that closely resembles a ball gown. The deep plum dress had a structured neckline, part of the latest fashion trend in Hollywood. Mira wore a soft, flowing pink dress that embraces everything romance is. Her asymmetrical gown featured an elegant train. Also boasting a romantic look was Elizabeth Moss, who hit the Red Carpet in a Dior soft pink, cap sleeved, beaded gown that truly captured the essence of feminism.
Hollywood legend Rita Moreno arrived in the same dress she wore in West Side Story in 1962. The dress boasts a baroque skirt along with a fitted bodice made of velvet. Her gloves and necklace rounded out her Rad Carpet fashion. Other fashions seen on the Red Carpet included a dose of black donned by Haley Bennett. She made quite an impression with green feathers covering the top of her dress.
Jane Fonda showed off a modest white dress that defies her 80 years of life. Her structured gown had long sleeves and a dramatic neckline. She showed the world that her style of dress is something women of any age can successfully pull off. Greta Gerwig wore a tangerine gown that shimmered and lit up the Red Carpet. Viewers couldn’t get enough of Leslie Bibb’s J. Mendal classic black gown. She accessorized her outfit with a bag designed by Taylor Ellis and high heels designed by Brian Altwood.
The men of the 2018 Oscars Red Carpet were just as fashionable. Daniel Kaluuya turned heads by showing up wearing a tuxedo jacket in mustard yellow. Those that walked the Red Carpet in more traditional garb include Matthew McConaughey, who sported a classic black tuxedo but paired it with a red bowtie made of velvet. Mahershala Ali also arrived in a black tuxedo but jazzed it up with a green suit jacket. Ansel Elgort somewhat followed in his footsteps by sporting a dark green tuxedo.
Going in the complete opposite direction, Timothee Chalamat stood out on the Red Carpet by wearing a white tuxedo, paired with a white bow tie and classic black dress shoes. Though Tom Holland chose a black suit, its double breast jacket looked polished on the Red Carpet. Jordan Peele chose to combine classic black and white, with a white tuxedo jacket and shirt along with a black bowtie, pants and dress shoes.
This year the men and the women of the Red Carpet put forward their best to make this night as elegant as it deserves to be, while still throwing in many of today’s hottest fashion trends in Hollywood and beyond.
