The BAL DE L’ETÉ in Saint-Tropez (Beatnik Edition 21)

Spread the love

The celebration of celebrations that marks the start of the summer social season is Prince Albert’s Bal de l’eté in the French Riviera. Set for June 3 through 5 in Saint-Tropez, this year marks the event’s flower power edition, highlighted by a Beatnik theme. The three-day, invite-only blowout includes a Ball, a cocktail dinner by the sea, a candlelit Gala Dinner under the stars, live music, excellent cuisine, and so much more! Bal de l’Eté will be hosted by Princess Catherine Colonna de Stigliano.

ABOUT THE GRIMALDIS from TOWN AND COUNTRY

When Monaco royalty celebrated a family wedding this weekend, the Grimaldis’ most beloved couple—Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III—were not forgotten.

Grace Kelly’s grandson Louis Ducruet (the child her daughter Princess Stéphanie) said “I do” to his longtime girlfriend Marie Chevallier, in the same place where Princess Grace wed Prince Rainier III. The Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate, also sometimes called St. Nicholas Cathedral, hasn’t hosted a royal wedding since Grace’s in 1956.

The cathedral also holds both Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III‘s remains, which is what inspired Ducruet to have his wedding there. “Growing up in the princely family binds you very strongly to this country,” he told Point de Vue magazine this past November. “For me it was therefore obvious to get married at the cathedral, so we will be near my grandfather, Prince Rainier III—this will be our way of associating him with our happiness. My grandfather was a man I admired. I was very close to him.”
