Mending Kids a Rockin’ Success in L.A.!

Spread the love

Mending Kids Intl., a premier fundraiser at the House of Blues (in L.A.) on Sunset Blvd was a rockin’ success on Valentine’s Day.

Some of the biggest names in music performed in front of this sold-out crowd as it was broadcast live on AXS T.V. station, with commentary by Arsenio Hall. Highlighted by the elaborate artwork of Matt Lamb, this marvelous fundraiser was able to raise five million dollars for Mending Kids International, a unique non-profit organization whose main purpose is to provide surgeries to children not only in the U.S. but around the globe.

1,500 kids from 54 different countries have benefitted (since 2006) from Mending Kids, who specialize in treating heart defects, scoliosis, and deformities. Headlining this musical extravaganza was legendary rock band KISS, igniting the crowd with some of their biggest hits on Valentine’s Day.

Master illusionist Penn Jillette opened the evening with an informative speech, followed by jazz and blues music performed by such notable artists as Brenna Whitaker, Vintage Trouble, and Kenny Wayne Shepard. Other significant entertainers in this all-star line up included Tom Jones, Natasha Bedingfield, and Little Big Band. Electricity was in the air as Paris Hilton entered the D.J. booth, entertaining guests with dance selections along with singing her newest hit single “Good Time.”

A fascinating collection of artwork by world-renowned artist Matt Lamb was in the spotlight; as
donated by his enterprising daughter Sheila Lamb. “The New Beginning” proved to be a definite show-stopper: created by Matt Lamb and measuring 11′ x 7′, this huge masterpiece was positioned next to the red carpet and was autographed by various celebrity attendees.

Other works by Matt Lamb and significant auction items managed to bring in an eye-opening five million dollars, leading many visitors to believe this party might become an annual event.
