What’s the best burger in Chicago? Is there even an answer to that question? The truth is, there really isn’t an answer to that question because everyone has their own standards. Being one of America’s biggest “foodie” towns, there are an infinite variety of burgers to choose from. Whether you prefer a traditional cheeseburger with the works (lettuce, tomato, onion etc.) or you prefer a more gourmet burger with wacky toppings, you’ll never be disappointed in Chicago. From hidden treasure pubs to more popular joints, we’ve got you covered on some greatest places to grab a burger.

Kuma’s Corner

2900 W. Belmont Ave. or 666 W. Diversey Pkwy.

Odds are you’ve most likely heard of this place. Kuma’s Corner is famous for their elaborate, unique, and wild burgers named after rock bands. Prepare yourself before you go here because the portions are huge. So go with an empty stomach, and you most likely won’t want to eat anything else for the rest of the day afterwards. Try the “Our Famous Kuma” if you’re more into traditional burgers and don’t venture out much from the norm. It has bacon, lettuce, sharp cheddar and a fried egg on top. The “Ironmaiden” has a southwestern twist to it and includes avocado, pepperjack cheese and chipotle mayo. If you’re feeling really adventurous, “the Black Sabbath” has blackening spice and housemade chili. Truly a one of a kind delicacy!

The Butcher & the Burger

1021 W. Armitage

Say you’re a really picky eater and you don’t appreciate a restaurant limiting you in the creation of your best burger. That’s where the Butcher & the Burger comes in. Being quite a popular location, this restaurant lets you pick your own toppings and even what type of meat you want (grass-fed beef, kobe beef, lentil burger etc.) You can choose from spices, a bun, cheese and extra toppings. They also do carry-out!

The Rockit Burger Bar

3700 N. Clark Street

The Rockit is a great place to grab a beer, a burger, and hang out with friends. It has a great American pub, laid back environment. Their burgers are some of the best in Chicago. Try the Rockit burger made with Kobe beef, melted brie cheese, fried shallots, date aioli, and red onion on a brioche bun. That sure is a mouthful!
