The Season of Giving and Dreams

Spread the love

‘Tis the Season of Dreams: When you add thirteen philanthropic angles, a Foundation dedicated to helping improve the lives of women and children and donors who support the cause, the dreams we dare to dream really can come true. December is Today’s Chicago Woman (TCW) magazine’s annual philanthropic issue, and Frances Renk, who graces the cover, personifies that spirit in spades. She is full of warmth, compassion and light, always thinking of others, and her contributions to the December issue are no exception. She wanted to share the spotlight and chose twelve philanthropic angels who exemplify giving back as a way of life: Lorraine Cassis, Elizabeth Foster, Debra Hoag, Sonya Jackson, Eva Jakubowski, Nila Leiserowitz, Nina Mariano, Katie McLenaghan, Dolly Jhonsa-Patel, Diane Primo, Lisa Skolnik and Rochelle Trotter.

To celebrate the December issue, Wells Fargo Private Bank hosted an intimate reception on Tuesday, December 3, for the TCW Foundation, Frances Renk, the twelve philanthropic angels and their guests.

Following the reception many of the guests made their way over to the Italian eatery and wine bar, Basil Leaf Café for a dinner hosted by Christopher and Frances Renk and prepared by Executive Chef Sean Tehrani prepared quite the feast. Vanille Pâtisserie’s macarons were the prefect finishing bite.

Sherren Leigh, Founder/President/Publisher of TCW, spoke about the TCW Foundation which gives grants to area charities with an operating budget under $1 million annually, and whose primary focus is supporting women and families. Because TCWF is an all-volunteer organization, all donations go to the charity.
