The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards
The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards in a few words
Sparkling, romantic and fashion was my take of what was happening on the red carpet this year. Unlike last year’s recession conscious styles. It was refreshing to witness how many stars took the time to talk with their fans and take pictures in spite of all the raindrops and spongy red carpet.
There were several surprises at the Globes this year. Sandra Bullock was one of them with her award for “The Blind Side” and Jeff Bridges was the other for his role in “Crazy Heart”. The audience gave him a standing ovation. Recognition that was way overdue for both.
One acceptance speech that stood out in my mind, was the one given by Meryl Streep. It was very heartfelt and full of emotion when referring to the devastation in Haiti. Many of the actors paid homage to world problems even at their highest moments!

It was also great to see Martin Scorsese receive “The Cecil B.DeMille” award. He has created some of the greatest and most powerful films in the history of cinema.
Ricky Gervais certainly kept the evening rolling with his wit and comedic style. This year Gervais wrote, directed and starred in the feature film “The Invention of Lying” alongside Jennifer Garner, Jonah Hill, Louis C.K., Rob Lowe and Tina Fey ( NBC’s 30 Rock).
After the show, there were several parties held in the hotel to celebrate the evening. I enjoyed the Warner Bros. and Instyle party held in the Oasis Courtyard. Many winners and Warner top Exec’s attended. A great night was had by all, not to mention all the Godiva chocolates that filled the tables.
