John Catsimatidis had everything right with his statement. Rita Cosby is one of the most accomplished broadcasters in America, famous for her achievements through her years of journalism. Those who know already expect outstanding success for ‘The Rita Cosby Show’.
Rita Cosby is a multi-talented journalist who has mastered several media platforms in her career. She has received awards for Outstanding Host and Outstanding Talk Show; Radio Ink’s 2018 Most Influential Woman Legend of the Year and won four other Gracie awards in radio. She has also been awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, and the Lech Walesa Freedom Award.
Rita Cosby is a renowned Emmy-winning TV host, who has anchored highly rated Primetime shows on both Fox News Channel and MSNBC.
She covered live reports from the war zone in Afghanistan, the US-Mexico border and beyond, and in Belgrade during the NATO bombing. During these times Rita Cosby broke and made several records such as being the first reporter to see prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay.
Rita has interviewed over 20 world leaders including seven U.S. Presidents, Pope Francis, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Rita also interviewed the Serbian president Slobodan Milošević who called her from his prison cell at The Hague.
Once when broadcasting live during the NATO bombing from Belgrade, Rita broke the story of the release of three American Prisoners Of War (POWs).
She didn’t just make headlines from these impressive feats alone. Rita’s engaging interviewing style was a huge part of her successful and eventful career. Other interviews she’s conducted include with entertainers and famous names such as Mike Tyson, Michael Jackson, Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, convicted serial killer David Berkowitz, “The Son of Sam” and another infamous inmate Dr. Jack Kevorkian. She’s regarded as the best in the business.
October 11th, 2010, was declared “Rita Cosby Day” in New York to honor Rita for her “extraordinary journalism and exemplary service on behalf of her community.”
The new Primetime Program is a return of Rita Cosby to 77 WABC. The broadcaster had worked at the station earlier from 2014 to 2018 as Political Editor and host of the weekend and midday shows.
Following the announcement, Rita Cosby released a statement saying “I am honored to be joining 77 WABC’s terrific lineup and working with legendary New York icon John Catsimatidis and his team. During this pivotal and unpredictable moment in our nation and communities, 10 pm to midnight will be a nonstop voice of reason and truth you will not want to miss,”
The 10 pm to midnight program kicked off on March 15th and is set to focus on the best of Rita Cosby’s broadcasting, which is breaking news and headlining interviews.
