Beauty Lessons from Jackie Kennedy Onassis

Spread the love

Beauty Lessons from Jackie Kennedy, she was one of the most recognized women of all time. She awed people with her elegance, warmth, beauty, and a great sense of style. She literally lit up the white house and after over five decades, many ladies still seek to create their inner Jackie.

Jacqueline Kennedy brushes her wind-blown hair out of her eyes as she enters a car at Barnstable Airport in Hyannis. She arrived to appear in an international television special about her late husband, President John F. Kennedy, on what would have been his 47th birthday.

The first lady herself might be gone, but there is still so much she left behind. Let’s dive right into some beauty lessons from Jackie herself.

Always accessorize in lipstick

If you truly loved Jackie or followed her appearances in the slightest way, you will notice she never

left lipsticks out. Jackie offered a valuable beauty lesson with lipstick – always accessorize them! Don’t run away from bright lipsticks and try to match your shade of lipsticks to your dress.

Pick a signature scent

You don’t have to be a celebrity to wear a signature scent. Jackie Kennedy loved the luxury French perfume, Lovely Patchouli 55. She wore it daily for several years. Those who know this fragrance can agree it suited her. Lovely Patchouli 55 has a rich earthy scent with a sensuous and sophisticated undertone. Pick a scent that is all you or rather that represents your best qualities.

Protect your hair with silk

Hairstylists and expert would tell you how silk protects the oils and integrity of your hair as you sleep. The first lady knew this secret all too well and used it to maintain her bouncy big hair. She wrapped her hair in a silk scarf to bed or slept on a silk pillowcase to keep frizz away and oils locked in. Of course, you can use a silk pillowcase and scarf simultaneously.

Have a casual day look

I’m not saying you should make it a habit but let’s face it; lazy days are inevitable and many ladies do a bad job with such looks. Jackie still appeared trendy with her lazy day looks by wrapping a silk scarf over her hair and hiding any tell-tale dark circles with large sunglasses. Dress simply but elegantly to finish off.

Use a luxurious face cream

When the wrinkles, fine lines, and other aging signs began to show, Jackie’s beauty shone more than ever. She used a luxurious face cream–Erno Laszlo’s Phormula 3-9 Repair Cream- to keep a youthful skin. Jackie had a bad smoking habit which sped up the aging symptoms but this heavy moisturizer was highly effective in hydrating skin regardless of its condition.

Hair glory

The only thing that stood out more than her beauty, style, and elegance was her hair. Jackie carried her hair with pride and paid attention to voluminous layers. Voluminous layers have never been out of vogue and to keep them shiny, the first lady used moisturizing hair oil particularly those made of lavender.
