The Greek Media Club which was founded in 2003 (by George Bliss, Anna Davlantes, and Terry Poulos) in coordination with the Gary Sinise Foundation, IOnTheScene, and Ladies Night Chicago recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in grand style ….

The ESTATE (1177 N. Elston Ave.) was the perfect destination for the “Twilight Summer Soiree,” a late summer rooftop party acknowledging all three organizations. Upon arriving at The Estate, guests were encouraged to make a charitable donation of $20.00 to the Gary Sinise Foundation, a very honorable organization that openly supports members of the military, their families, and others who are considered to be first responders ….

A spacious, accommodating first floor area contained a staircase which led up to a breathtaking rooftop (known as the StarDeck) which boasts a spectacular view of our southern skyline, positioned along side the north end of the Chicago River. While amiable waitresses and bartenders satisfied the crowd with delicious appetizers and cold drinks, partygoers mingled and had the opportunity to better acquaint themselves with the Greek Media, I On The Scene, and Ladies Night Chicago (founded by Shari Duffy).

Talented actor – guitarist Skip Griparis entertained the lively crowd after sunset with song hits from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s while flame throwers kept visitors warm from the chilly breeze sweeping off the Chicago River.

Notables seen in the crowd throughout the evening were 2-time US Olympic diver (Beijing 2008 and London 2012) Christina Loukas, Jane Monzures (morning host on i101-FM and also host of “Living Healthy Chicago” on WGN TV Sunday mornings, Harpo Studios associate producer Andrea Dres, syndicated film critic heard locally on WIND AM-560 Sarah Knight Adamson, Executive Director of the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board Louis Apostol, attorney and former NBA agent to Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas, along with US Olympian Evelyn Ashford, among others George Andrews, Development Director at the National Hellenic Museum Renee Pappas, and Olympic torchbearer (2004) in St. Louis, MO Constantine Zografopoulos.

No one left The Estate Ultra Bar disappointed on this special night as guests had a wonderful time- all in the name of raising funds for a very noble cause, the Gary Sinise Foundation.
