Alliance Francaise Presents “Red Carpet at the Monte Carlo Casino” the surroundings were exotic, the atmosphere exciting, and the party guests glamorous as the Ritz Carlton was transformed into an unforgettable showplace, resembling the eccentric French Riviera for this year’s Red Carpet at the Monte Carlo Casino.
The festivities started at (6:00 P.M.) with signature cocktails and an impressive silent auction; while the Stanley Paul Orchestra filled the air with dance music followed by an exquisite French Mediterranean dinner prepared by Executive Chef Mark Payne.
Steve Zick of Christie’s Auction House directed an eye-opening live auction, highlighted by magnificent French and Riviera vacations, as well as stunning jewelry. Casino games featuring Roulette, Baccarat, and Trente et Quarante provided some thrilling moments for these black-tie guests, as the Stanley Paul Orchestra played on until midnight.
According to co-chair Lisa Bailey, “We hope to raise $750,000 to help maintain the 117-year-old organization’s French language classes, cultural programs, and actively circulated library of more than 14,000 volumes.” More importantly, the funds raised from this particular Gala assures the continued success of the Educational Outreach program which offers after – school activities to students in six area high schools.
Besides bringing students and the French Alliance together for culturally enriching workshops, this unique partnership with Chicago Public Schools also provides scholarships for trips to France.
Congratulations to Alliance Francaise co-chairs Lisa Bailey, Veronique Bushala, and honorary co-chair Betsey Pinkert along with sponsors Related Midwest and DLA Piper (among others) for a wonderful event, set in a luxurious 5 – star hotel for the purpose of raising funds for an honorable organization whose significant cultural exchange achievements for the last 117 years should be applauded.
