A Spectacular Glitz & Glamour Celebration
The Grand Ballroom at the Peninsula Hotel was the perfect setting for the Second Annual Glitz & Glamour event, which benefits A Silver Lining Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of Barbara Bradford and Robert L. Sherman, owners of A. Marek Fine Jewelry, 100% of the proceeds generated from the ticket and raffle sales of the event were donated to A Silver Lining Foundation’s “Buy a Mom a Mammogram” Program.
Founded in 2002 by Dr. Sandy Goldberg, A Silver Lining Foundation provides access to cancer resource information, education, and quality of life services. In addition, through their “Buy a Mom a Mammogram Program” they fund the entire spectrum of breast health testing (screening, diagnostic testing, and biopsy) for uninsured and underinsured women and men at fifteen partner hospitals in the Greater Chicagoland, Elgin, and Rockford areas.
Guests at the benefit celebration enjoyed cocktails while listening to the artistry of vocalist Anthony Rago before proceeding into the Grand Ballroom for a superb lunch prepared by Executive Chef Jose Fernandez, under the culinary direction of Gregory Hyder.
The afternoon included a spectacular runway fashion show featuring the A. Marek Fine Jewelry spring collection, as well as stunning looks from Mark Roscoe Couture, Borris Powell, Ricorso, Gary Gonzalez, Calvin Tran, Julie Mersine from Mira Couture, J. Toor, and Diego Rocha. WGN evening anchor, Micah Materre, emceed the event and she and Dr. Sandy Goldberg shared inspirational comments before gracing the runway adorned in jewelry from A. Marek Fine Jewelry and couture dresses from Mark Roscoe Couture. Jasmine Taylor, a senior from Shepard High School and cancer survivor, also made a special appearance on the runway in a gown designed by Mark Roscoe Couture.
The Second Annual Glitz & Glamour event was produced by Mark Roscoe Couture with the fashion portion produced by Tracey Tarantino DiBuono from ZZAZZ Productions and underwritten by A. Marek Fine Jewelry.
