The Timeless Joan Collins
On this Throwback Thursday we pay homage to the talented and ageless Joan Collins. The remarkable woman is celebrating her 81st birthday tomorrow May 23rd, and also the release of her new film “The Time of Their Lives”. She recently spoke about this new film at the Cannes Film Festival, describing it as “[A] movie about two women who are going on a road trip trying to find themselves in the last, third act of their lives.’ she also added, “It’s a little bit like a mixture of the Bucket List and Thelma and Louse, the next generation.”
Some may say she is most famous for her time on Dynasty, but throughout her life, she has taken on numerous diversifying roles from horror to widely popular films adapted from her sister Jackie’s novels. She even recently completed filming a new British fantasy film called “Molly Moon, The Incredible Hypnotist”, in which she plays the mother of the villain. Joan Collins has a knack for making herself relevant, while always being true to herself.
She redefines aging and beauty and recently launched a new cosmetic line with QVC. The new line called “Timeless Beauty” is a perfect representation of decades of beautiful and strong looks that Joan Collins has graced us with. Below this short video, we compiled our favorite images of Joan, who always showed that her beauty would live on forever.
The short promo shows how flawless and on point this woman is at every age.
Joan in Rally ‘Round the Flag, Boys!, in this film she played Angelica Hoff. An obvious and important part of her character was looking stunning in a ceramic bathtub. Scrub-a-dub!!
DYNASTY! The infamous television series featured the drama of the Carrington family. Some say that Joan’s Golden Globe-winning performance as Alexis Carrington, brought the show back to life which surpassed Dallas as the number 1 show in America in 1985.
It would be a disservice to Joan, to not mention how much she emulated sexiness. This sultry actress broke down barriers for women to let their beauty flag fly. This is not just because she graced the cover of Playboy, but also the many roles she played as women who knew their beauty and how to use it to their advantage.
Joan seems to have no plans to stop working or looking gorgeous. Here she is taking part in the selfie-movement at the Prince’s Trust Awards in London.
