The annual PAWS Chicago Fur Ball is returning for its 18th year on November 15, 2019. Guests will arrive with their pets at the Drake Hotel promptly at 6 pm on Friday to participate in a wide range of activities. Some of the festivities are set to include auctions, both silent and live, raffles, pedicures, massages, and a delicious dinner for all to enjoy.

The pets, of course, are not excluded from anything that goes on during this lavish event. It is PAWS tradition to provide a dog buffet, relaxing spritzes, and “pawdicures” for all of our furry friends.

One of the most anticipated events on the schedule is the red carpet walk. The scenery of the PAWS Chicago Fur Ball every year includes adorable pets dressed up in formal attire walking the runway, sharing some of the spotlights with their loving owners. Similar to every year, there will be an expected 900 guests attending the gala in November.

PAWS Chicago

PAWS, short for “Pets Are Worth Saving”, is a Chicago-based organization that is dedicated to creating a better life for homeless cats and dogs. Considered the largest no-kill shelter in the city, PAWS members have been working hard against the killing of innocent animals when they are not adopted.

Some of the most notable efforts of PAWS Chicago show in the numbers. Last year in 2018, there were over 5,000 pets that found homes in the area, all thanks to the passionate PAWS members that made it happen. In addition to rehoming thousands of cats and dogs, there were almost 17,000 spay and neuter surgeries performed on pets for a low cost or for free.

I will be attending this year’s Fur Ball, and would like to encourage all animal lovers to do the same before they sell out! Different ticket levels grant access to open seating or reserved tables, from 1 guest all the way up to 12 people and 12 dogs.

Ticket prices are starting at $100 for pets and $400 for guests, both of which can be purchased [HERE]. Donations of any amount are appreciated and will go toward helping pets that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in the future. While purchasing tickets online, guests are given the chance to donate additional funds, anywhere from $50 to $2500.

Donations and sponsorships of larger amounts are rewarded with name recognition, special seating arrangements, and corporate volunteer opportunities, not to mention furthering the mission of PAWS participants.

This upcoming event is very close to my heart, as I am a long-time supporter of PAWS Chicago. Over the past several years, this organization has truly made a difference in our city, doing the work that not many are willing to do, in order to save thousands of innocent animals.

The PAWS Chicago Fur Ball 2019, like every year, will enable the organization to move forward with the resources that they need to touch the lives of as many pets as possible.
