Michi Marshall
Michi Marshall, a style influencer and fashion leader who is also known for her sky-high heels up to there and I were the evening’s hosts. Michi work has appeared in magazines and she’s participated in fashion events as a model, a host and at store openings.
Fashion tastemakers and trendsetters gathered the ultra-fashionable Tocco Restaurant to welcome London-trained designer Stephane St Jaymes, to Chicago’s fashion scene. Stephane, arriving in Chicago a year ago this month, has an impressive work experience pedigree – Elisabeth Emmanuelle, Michiko Koshino, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano to name a few – you can’t help but think that before long he’ll be the name on everyone’s lips.
Michi’s husband, Brandon, arrived about an hour into the event to give support to his wife. He quietly tucked himself behind a corner table and was so gracious when guests asked to snap a photo with their favorite Bear player.
Models wore designs from daywear to evening gowns throughout the event. Several guests said they couldn’t decide which design was their favorite. Stephane, with a cheeky smile said, “That’s the whole point. You shouldn’t have just one in your wardrobe. You should have them all!”
In addition to working for London’s top luxury houses, he was a freelance stylist for several bands. In 2010 Stephane started to concentrate full-time on his own line and moved into a studio in North London where he designed for society ladies, weddings and high profile events such as, Ascot. He decided to leave the frenetic pace of the London design and club scene and made the move Chicago and opened up his own studio at the Bridgeport Art Center.
