The 21st Annual Cavallino Classic

Spread the love

The 21st Annual Cavallino Classic kicked off on January 17th offering spectators from around the globe spectacular views of jets, yachts, and Ferraris among the lush, tropical surroundings on the shores of the Atlantic ocean. The world-famous Breakers Hotel was the site where an estimated 500 people showed up to behold vintage Ferraris on the front lawn next to 80′ tall palm trees.

The first day of events was at the private hangar of the Palm Beach Airport where state-of-the-art jets lined up, as well as old vintage ones, allowing visitors the chance to visit the interiors of these magnificent aircraft while sipping champagne. One of my dear friends Marilyn Hoffman was a sponsor (with millions of dollars of properties on display) at the ShowBoats Yacht Hop at Rybovich Yacht Club on Friday night. Unbelievable yachts! They started at 180 feet and accommodated everything from a miniature helicopter, rooftop hot tub, a sunken bar equipped with seats in the water to a full size master bedroom with walk-in showers for his and her’s, not to mention the private room for all the pets to rest with their very own valet to assist their every need.

On Saturday, the “Concorso d’Elegance” was held on the front lawn of the Breakers where the centerpiece of the show was a group of four Ferrari GTO’s, worth an estimated $30 to 40 million dollars. Also highlighting the show were other Ferraris, including a Super America, a Barchetta, a 512 Testarossa, and a 250 SWB.

Cavallino Classic Vintage Automobile

One of my favorite activities that weekend was having brunch at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago. It is so beautiful there and the significant artwork and grounds filled with outstanding automobiles made this a moment I will never forget. To top off the weekend, after the wonderful brunch, I met some friends from Boca Raton by the name of Keith and Pamela Collins at Piaget Field to watch a fast game of polo between Heathcote and Coca-Cola and then on to their house for a private dinner for all the out of town guests.

Well if you can imagine, this one will go down in my memories as one of a kind. Thank you to everyone who made this weekend possible. Making the Cavallino Classic a remarkable and unforgettable six-day event. Sponsorship provided by ShowBoats Int., Jet Aviation, The Mar-a-Lago Club, and Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, just to name a few.
