The Hampton Classic 2024

Spread the love

Like falling leaves, which are a sign of autumn, the Hampton Classic signals the grand finale of the summer season.

The horse show remains one of the most significant social events in the Hamptons and is much-anticipated by horse people all over.

A look back at the history of The Hampton Classic:

This Grand Prix began well into the 1900s in Southampton. It was discontinued and revived three times in those days. The first was during World War 1, and the second, World War 11.

It was in 1971 that the current show started to take shape and become consistent. It went from a one-day show to a five-day event.

Now in its fourth successful decade, the Hampton Classic 2024 is an event in a class of its own.
Up to 1500 horses are entered each year in over 200 competitions with their horse friends, who include national champion hunter competitors, Olympic medalists, and even children and adult amateurs.
Many things make the Hamptons Classic memorable. You can never forget the social scene from show jumping to world-class hunting. Thanks to the rich sponsorship of the show, it’s a regular day at the classic to find visitors leisurely strolling the grounds with elaborate hats and cute dogs.

Then there’s the VIP tent with a capacity of 3000 people, where white-coated servers serve one.
Much to look forward to this year:
This year, the horse show will feature scores of exciting activities. As always, equestrians from around the world will gather to compete for more than $800,000 in prize money.

Those who come to watch will enjoy the competition, daily activities, and attractions. The event welcomes almost 100 onsite shops, a kids’ area with special activities, and several international food options.

There’s also the annual Animal Adoption Day, where rescued dogs, cats, and horses can find new homes.
This year’s event will take place from August 25th to September 1st, 2024, at its usual and present location on Snake Hollow Road, Bridgehampton.
