The Kalaway Polo Event

Spread the love

When the summer is winding down and kids return to school, there’s only one thing left to do —have a big day out.

I’ll do this at Chicagoland’s Largest polo event —the annual LeCompte/Kalaway Trailowners Cup.  It is my pleasure not only to be attending but to be a judge in this year’s Tailgate contest.

I’ve always found the Kalaway Cup to be a one-of-a-kind gathering.  It brings people together for a spectacular afternoon, and families, players, and spectators can genuinely say they closed summer in a big way.

The annual LeCompte/Kalaway Trailowners Cup is brought to us by the Barrington Hills Polo Club.

The club plays polo differently—not as a competition of skill but as a fun game for those who share a love for horses and each other’s company.

These values have been passed down the club’s history for decades.

The Barrington Hills Club was founded in the late 1980s by former players from the Chicago Avenue Armory- friends who knew the importance of good times and like-minded togetherness.

Players of all skill levels are welcome at the Barrington Hills Polo Club, and they enjoy a state-of-the-art facility, National recognition, and a relaxed atmosphere to develop.

Every year, we join them in celebrating the games with events like the LeCompte/Kalaway Trailowners Cup.

This year’s event is poised to be as memorable as others before it.

Tailgate spaces will allow anyone and their families to enjoy polo and horses.

Tailgates include six admission tickets (require prior reservation).  Individual tickets can be purchased at the gate (cash only), and kids 12 and under are free.

The date is Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Barrington Hills Polo Club, 250 Deepwood Rd. Barrington Hills, Illinois

The cost of tickets is $25 at the gate    Tailgates are $300 and include one vehicle and admission for six individuals.

I’ve been told the tailgate judges always have a great time, and I look forward to it as a horse friend. Follow my day at The Kalaway Polo Event on social media.
