Spread the love

Now that the holiday spirit is creeping into you and your friends but the desire to stay warm and cosy is also just as appealing we have the list of Chicago’s December  ‘Must Do’s’ that are worth braving the cold for, or even better, they’re indoors!

All you need to know is that these are the events not to miss this December in Chicago.

First up, the Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza.

ChristKindl at 50 W Washington St

It was inspired by a Nuremberg, Germany market founded way back in 1545. It’s the perfect hangout for you and your friends, families, significant others, or even to browse on your own. There is HOT food, drink and a festive buzz that will warm you up, even in Chicago’s cold weather.

Second is the Music Box Christmas Show at the Music Box theatre in Wrigleyville.

First off, it’s indoors (YAY). Secondly, who doesn’t need some good holiday happiness? Music Box delivers them all to you through those good old Christmas classics being shown to you from the comfort of a large plush chair, and again, it’s indoors.

Third up is Ice Skating in Millenium park. This December in Chicago

It’s December. Enough said. On a serious note, a great way to get a little exercise during the cold and to have a good old laugh at the tumbles and wobbles that you find yourself performing in front of your friends and family.

Fourthly is the ‘Christmas Around The World’ exhibition, showcased at the Museum of Science and Industry in Hyde Park.

Why not learn something you maybe didn’t know this holiday season and be dazzled by over 50 Christmas trees from different ethnic groups in the city. In addition, snow falls every half an hour, so you’re still feeling the holiday spirit, but from the comfort of the indoor warmth.

And last, but not least. The Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Romantic, family friendly, and another fun event to go to even if you’re alone. It’s definitely one of the most popular events around the holidays, packed with people every night,  potentially some animals, but definitely a lot of fun. The organizers will give you glasses to protect your eyes but the beverages are warm and the experience is well worth it.

So get out, enjoy, and don’t let the cold beat you this December Chicago!
