Beauty Products That Have Stood The Test of Time for The Jam

Spread the love

On The Jam, I discussed the topic of classic beauty products that have stood the test of time. Although this can be a very broad subject, there are five easily obtained products that I consider to be some of the best examples in that category.

CARMEX

When the best beauty products in history are brought up, one of the first things that come to mind is the classic medicated lip balm. The Carmex brand was developed in 1937 and has been going strong ever since. The simplicity of the round yellow packaging is something to be admired because it is such a universal product that anyone can use. Lip balm is a necessity for every beauty routine no matter what look you’re going for.

NIVEA CREME

Another great beauty product that has been around for a long time is Nivea Creme. It was first launched in Germany in 1911 and eventually made its way around the world toward the 1930s. The first ever packaging was a classic blue and white tin that was actually a staple in almost every woman’s bag in the years leading up to 1960. It was advertised by its parent company Beiersdorf as the ideal product for being able to stay moisturized on the go. Nivea Creme was the pinnacle of conventional beauty products, and it can actually be found in most major retail stores today including Target and Ulta.

POND’S COLD CREAM CLEANSER

Beauty Products

Speaking of convenient beauty products, that brings us to Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser. This product is basically everything in one little container. When applied to the face at the end of the day, this cleanser will get rid of your makeup while moisturizing your skin at the same time. A longtime beauty essential, this life-changing beauty product was first developed in the year of 1846. There is such a loyal following for this product that even Southern Living applauded its ability to remove makeup and moisturize at the same time. Even better, the cleanser can also be used as a face mask as an additional function.

OLAY (formerly known as OIL OF OLAY)

Beauty Products

The next item on the list of the best beauty products of all time is actually an entire skin line. Formerly known as Oil of Olay, Olay has been a trusted brand of skin care products since all the way back in the 1950s. They have a wide range of products from the most basic face creams to advanced moisture wrinkle serums that can be found on the shelves of almost all major retailers. A moisturizer product is one of the most essential components of any beauty routine. The Olay brand truly has something for everyone, with a large variety of options at both high and low price points.

L’OREAL PARIS HAIR COLOR

Beauty Products

Last but not least, we absolutely cannot forget about the L’Oreal Paris Hair Color. This brand has been dying women’s tresses for more than a century. In fact, if your grandmother ever colored her own hair at home, she probably used hair color by L’Oreal Paris. The brand was started in the early 1900s by Eugene Schueller, a French chemist who formulated and distributed the dyes all throughout Paris.

In closing, I would like to give a huge thank you to the hosts of The Jam as well as WCIU’s John Hendricks and Ken Maccarone for inviting me to be on The Jam.

Many beauty trends come and go but some have stood the test of time! Beauty and lifestyle expert Irene Michaels was here talking beauty secrets and which products have stood the test of time.

So true, I wish that she was on air frequently. I find that she is one of the most inspirational women in this field and should have her own TV show. I think we would all really benefit from this.

      • Leslie Doyle

I agree! Irene should have some resource or place where she could post all of her old videos. I personally find her beauty advice extremely useful and I’m sure others would as well.

  • Kari Allen

I love how real Irene is. Seems to me that everything she does is in the order to benefit women of all kind. I guess that’s what makes her so great!

Irene really makes an effort to connect to all women which I really appreciate. Goes to show how role models impact the whole positivity of generation. Irene is doing an amazing job.

  • Marie Walton

Couldn’t agree more, Carmex will definitely last the longest as it is essential in everyday life. (At least for me.) Otherwise, all of these products are well-made and the show went great!

    • Jessica

It’s not just you. I always have Carmex on me. When my lips get super dry it’s so reliable and super accessible. Thanks for creating this article!

  • Nicole Gibbs

I’m so surprised by how incredible Irene’s products have been. If you have cracked skin or need moisturizer… I would definitely check out her anti-aging line.

L’Oreal Paris is by far a line of products that have stood the tides of time. I’ve been using their hair coloring for years and it still works like the first time I got it. It’s such a revolutionary product.

    • Aliza Gray

True, it has definitely proven to be one of the best hair products. Although, I wish that Irene would make some hair products for all of us as well. I think those would really resonate well with all of us.

  • Stephanie H

  • Lisa Glover

Irene why haven’t you been on T.V. more? I’ve been looking around and it’s been a while since we’ve seen you. Regardless, you may want to start a YouTube channel… I’d give it a follow!

    • Karla Bennett

A Youtube channel would be a great idea! I’m surprised that she hasn’t already started a community on there. I’m sure she would be able to obtain a large following very easy as most people know that she is a beauty influencer.

    • I On The Scene

Check back often and also follow us on Facebook for Irene’s schedule.

    • Sydney

I would be so down for a channel or to see her more of TV. I’m surprised she doesn’t already compete in those spaces. I’ve noticed she has a Youtube channel; although, not many videos. She could create some how to’s or just give beauty advice. Bottom line, I followed the channel and you should as well.

  • Alice

    • I On The Scene

      Thank you!

    • Whitney Warner

I’ve never seen this show before; although, I’ve been a fan of Irene’s for around a decade now. Thanks for publishing the show online for all of us who don’t watch television often.

Irene really is a master of many crafts. I love all the advice that she gives. I’ve been an active reader for a while and I love the fact that she is progressing into different spaces.

  • Can’t say I love Carmex, I’m really surprised they still do so well. But still, a great list of beauty brands.
