Ol Donyo Lodge is a close favorite offering an exclusive and magical experience to those who visit. I have loved so many things about this lodge from its majestic stand-alone suites to living side by side with elephants.

Ol Donyo Lodge is located on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills National Park between the Amboseli and Tsavo West National Park in southeast Kenya. It is the heart of the 275,000-acre Mbirikani Group Ranch. The lodge works closely with the local Maasai people, incorporating their rich culture. It is the one place where you wake up to the famous Mount Kilimanjaro and the distant roars of lions. Ol Donyo Lodge is where your fantasies of living with popular wildlife come to fulfillment.

Accommodation

The lodge comprises eight spacious, stand-alone guest suites. No two of these are the same. Each comes with an exclusive plunge pool, a rooftop terrace for romantic or deeply personal relaxation beneath the sparkling sky. This bush lodge has the most luxurious décor, which includes art from the greatest artists around Africa. It is traditional yet contemporary.

Safari adventure

On the lodge, guests can enjoy twice-daily game drives. Explore the safari by foot, in a vehicle, or on horseback. Bike alongside exotic creatures like the giraffe. See the views that include Mount Kilimanjaro. Watch elephants slake their thirsts at the waterhole nearby. Finish with fhorseback riding, Maasai village visits, mountain biking, and day trips to the Amboseli National Park. After a rewarding adventure, you can cool off and indulge in a relaxing massage at the lodge.

The Food

What is a magnificent lodge without an equally thrilling menu? How these meals are served make it even better. The lodge hosts breakfast on the plains, candlelit dinners in the main dining room or under the African sky, lunches on the veranda and late nights around the outdoor fireplace. The meals are mostly anything you could wish for.

I have just returned home from a holiday of a lifetime. Not only was the accommodation, the food and the scenery exceptionally good but the hosts were absolutely fantastic. Every guest is treated like a royal, their generosity and hospitality is absolutely fantastic. I have had some amazing holidays in my life but this holiday from the start to the finish was truly outstanding. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We all work hard and it was an incredible treat.
