Beauty Products That Have Stood The Test of Time for The Jam

On The Jam, I discussed the topic of classic beauty products that have stood the test of time. Although this can be a very broad subject, there are five easily obtained products that I consider to be some of the best examples in that category. 

CARMEX

When the best beauty products in history are brought up, one of the first things that come to mind is the classic medicated lip balm. The Carmex brand was developed in 1937 and has been going strong ever since. The simplicity of the round yellow packaging is something to be admired because it is such a universal product that anyone can use. Lip balm is a necessity for every beauty routine no matter what look you’re going for. 

NIVEA CREME

Another great beauty product that has been around for a long time is Nivea Creme. It was first launched in Germany in 1911 and eventually made its way around the world toward the 1930s. The first-ever packaging was a classic blue and white tin that was actually a staple in almost every woman’s bag in the years leading up to 1960. It was advertised by its parent company Beiersdorf as the ideal product for being able to stay moisturized on the go. Nivea Creme was the pinnacle of conventional beauty products, and it can actually be found in most major retail stores today including Target and Ulta. 

POND’S COLD CREAM CLEANSER

Speaking of convenient beauty products, that brings us to Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser. This product is basically everything in one little container. When applied to the face at the end of the day, this cleanser will get rid of your makeup while moisturizing your skin at the same time. A longtime beauty essential, this life-changing beauty product was first developed in the year of 1846. There is such a loyal following for this product that even Southern Living applauded its ability to remove makeup and moisturize at the same time. Even better, the cleanser can also be used as a face mask as an additional function. 

OLAY (formerly known as OIL OF OLAY)

The next item on the list of the best beauty products of all time is actually an entire skin line. Formerly known as Oil of Olay, Olay has been a trusted brand of skincare products since all the way back in the 1950s. They have a wide range of products from the most basic face creams to advanced moisture wrinkle serums that can be found on the shelves of almost all major retailers. A moisturizer product is one of the most essential components of any beauty routine. The Olay brand truly has something for everyone, with a large variety of options at both high and low price points.

L’OREAL PARIS HAIR COLOR

Last but not least, we absolutely cannot forget about the L’Oreal Paris Hair Color. This brand has been dying women’s tresses for more than a century. In fact, if your grandmother ever colored her own hair at home, she probably used hair color by L’Oreal Paris. The brand was started in the early 1900s by Eugene Schueller, a French chemist who formulated and distributed the dyes all throughout Paris.
